You don’t need much to make this cute quick costume and can get all of it at your local craft or fabric store!
-feathers (a bag of plain white and 10-12 large ones)
-red embroidery thread or twine
-fun “tribal” patterned ribbon ( i found this at Joanne’s Fabric)
-a plastic headband with teeth (if your craft store doesn’t carry any check CVS/ walgreens)
-glue ( i used a hot glue gun, but you could use any heavy duty glue)
Strart your project by wrapping the twine or floss around the larger feathers and secure the ends with a knot and some glue.
Place your ribbon down (upside-down) on a flat surface after cutting it to match the length of your heaband. This is all a prefrence you could wrap it all the way around if you want, i just chose to leave the back open.
Feed the little ribbons into the back if the ribbon allows for it ! If you don’t have this option you can sew or glue them in place.
Cover that side up with a matching piece of ribbon, then lay the larger feathers on top. I like to lay them on top first before glueing them down to make sure that they are all spaced out correctly and to my liking.
After gluing the feathers down, wait for them to dry in place before bending and securing the ribbon around the headband. (*before I glued them down i actually decided to slip them inside the two pieces of ribbon because i thought it looked nicer.)
Good Luck :)
